ABOUT US
We envision a vibrant, nurturing, multigenerational, and inclusive group of people coming together to cultivate an affordable, barrier-free, pleasurable, healthy, accessible and food
secure community.

The purposes of the Society are:

To promote quality of life and food security through gardening as a basic life skill and horticultural education in the Municipality of Central Saanich.
To provide individual plots for personal use and communal garden space for local food security
To support relevant community events.
To provide, to the best of our ability, a venue that is universally designed, accessible, barrier-free, inclusive, pleasurable, healthy, inclusive and affordable, which is available to
all members on an equal basis, including, but not limited to, accordance with The United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Disabled and the United Nations Declaration on
the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

OUR PLAN
With the help of community partnerships, we will strive to educate and empower people to successfully grow their own food and foster relationships within our community. We aim to create a space that has both communal growing spaces and individual plots with some space dedicated to charitable donations. We aim to foster community through growing food year round. We are dedicated to incorporating nature and nurturing into the garden with an emphasis on sustainability by using low impact environmental practices.

CSCGS Membership Rules

Membership Fee: $0.00. By applying for membership today, you agree to be an official member of the organization and to attend future meetings where garden rules, membership and plot fees and other business will be decided by vote. One membership equals one vote. You may terminate your membership from CSCG at any time by written notification to gardens@csgardens.org *

Plot Rental Fee (optional): $ to be determined and payable at a future date We are currently accepting names for garden plots/bd on our wait list. At least one member of the household must reside in Central Saanich in order to reserve a plot. Do you wish to be added to the wait list for a plot? *

1. Photo permission: From time to time, gardeners, garden leaders and the media will take photos of the garden. Please check here if you do not give permission for your or your children’s photo to be published. If you do not want your photo taken, please let photographers know when you encounter them at the garden.

3. Liability: By signing this gardening membership form, I/we agree that I/we plan to abide by all the garden rules, which are still under development. I/we understand that I will use the garden at my own risk, and the Central Saanich Community Gardens, the owners of the land (when land is acquired) or any other associated organization are not responsible for my actions. I, therefore, agree to hold harmless the CSCGS and the aforementioned entities for any liability, damage, loss or claim that occurs in connection with the use of the garden by me or my guests. I/we agree to contribute a minimum of 8 hours volunteer time per year to the garden and/or organization if I/we lease a plot. I /we certify that I/we over the age of 18 and am/are each both capable & authorized to sign this agreement.
